Our commitment
Accessibility
Cannabis is for everyone — and so is this site. We build to WCAG 2.2 Level AA and test every release automatically and by hand.
What we’ve built in
- High-contrast mode — toggle it in the header (it’s remembered), or it follows your system “increase contrast” setting.
- Colorblind-safe — we never rely on color alone; status and categories always carry a text label or shape too.
- Reduced motion — the scrolling history timeline and all animations respect your “reduce motion” preference.
- Keyboard & screen readers — a skip link, semantic landmarks, visible focus, and ARIA on interactive controls.
- The map has a text equivalent — every dispensary on the map is also in an accessible list with full-size links.
How we test
Each build runs automated checks (axe-core and Pa11y, WCAG 2.2 AA) in CI, plus manual keyboard and screen-reader passes on the map and timeline. Automated tools catch only part of the picture, so human testing is part of every release.
A note on the map
Map markers are positioned by geography, so closely-spaced markers can fall below the minimum target size. Under WCAG 2.2 SC 2.5.8 this is permitted because an equivalent control exists: the full, keyboard-accessible dispensary list provides the same information and actions at full size.
